I contacted Above Air Inc. because another company recommended it to me. I wanted to get their opinion on an issue that I am having with my air conditioner.
Prior to contacting Above Air Inc. I had two other companies that had checked my unit and both companies told me the same thing, the condenser coil has a leak. I called Above Air Inc. and told the lady on the phone that two other companies have already told me that the condenser coil has a leak, and I wanted their view on it and possibly work with them on repairing my unit since they were recommended.
She told me it would $90 if they can fix the issue. She added, “the $90 will be applied to the cost of the repair”.
I agreed and made the appointment. Today, I received a call from another woman from Above Air Inc. She tells me that the technician is at my place and needs to pump in freon to confirm that the leak is coming from the condenser coil, she continues to tell me that it will cost me $400 to do that. She asked me if wanted to go ahead and do it.
I was shocked. The two previous companies did not charge me a cent. Not even for the call. Do not get me wrong, I understand if I must pay for the service call but to put in freon into a unit that has a leak does not make any sense and worst of all to want to charge $400 is insane.
I declined and they charged me $90 for the service call. I lost $90 but I learned that this company is not a company I would recommend to my family or friends.”

“TERRIBLE. This message is in regards to the technician you sent this morning. As I explained yesterday, the assumption was the pump. I bypassed the pump so the water could drain out and I was able to get some cooling. The tech you sent started off completely on the wrong foot. I addressed him twice with "Good Morning" of which he could not open his mouth to reply. Error #1 then I go out and he is texting away, ON MY DIME. He could clearly see that there is an issue, but apparently his reads indicate there is not. I told him that around 4PM in the afternoon, my thermostat reads 80-81, then he said, "ohh must be the pump", all the while looking that it's bypassed and he had every intention of leaving it that way. I made it quite clear to him that I was not paying for his WAG (wild ass guess), I had to get to the office and said my daughter would be back in 5 minutes. I then called the office and voiced my displeasure.”
